A Catalogue of Lost Things [album 2]

I wrote a twisted introduction To play before the show But my tale of doom It cleared the room Wherever I'd go I gave a twisted introduction As he walked onto the stage I said he's past his best And his life's a mess But here he is anyway I don't know why I do this God knows why I do this It was a twisted introduction The night that I met you I took a chance And said let's have a dance And you said I do I don't know why We do this God knows why We do this This is a twisted introduction So take it in your stride When someone new Asks how are you? You say I'm dead inside... And yourself? And yourself? And yourself? God knows why I do this Don't know why I do this

Peacetime is breaking out all over nowhere Meantime, it's kicking off inside my head Oh my, the news says that the world is broken I'm inclined to watch the whole thing from my bed I'm sick of the slogans of the oh-so clever Keep calm and do whatever People - too busy looking where they're going Forget to see exactly where they're at...man Let's get outta here Let's go where the sun shines on And we belong Let's just disappear Will you come along? Yeah yeah yeah yeah Those fools, you wouldn't trust them with the water Meanwhile they're spitting feathers everywhere They lie - it's all about the fiscal quarter Meantime, they slap and scratch the backs of all the fat cats Let's get outta here Let's go build a sanctuary For you and me Let's just disappear Will you come along? Yeah yeah yeah yeah Let's get outta here Let's go where they play our song And we belong Let's just disappear Will you come along? Yeah yeah yeah yeah

Black & Blue 03:30
You can find me in the rush hour With my hands tied and my head bowed And you can have me in the old town Where the love died and I broke down Now can you help me? (I'm not too proud to ask) Like I helped you (when you didn't need to ask) It was so black And we were so blue Now, will you meet me by the old pier? And will you hold me before I leave here? Now can you help me? (I'm not too proud to ask) Like I helped you (when you didn't need to ask) It was so black And we were so blue You know how high we flew And fell apart in different ways We’re looking black and blue We fell apart in different ways We stumble through these godless days And I’m way past caring You see we lost it in the ‘80s And we got found out in the ‘90s Tried to reclaim it for the ‘00s But man, I fucked up in the ‘10s Now can you help me? (I'm not too proud to ask) Like I helped you (when you didn't need to ask) It was so black And we were so blue You know how high we flew And fell apart in different ways We’re looking black and blue We fell apart in different ways We stumble through these godless days Lead me through this endless maze Coz I’ve lost all feeling

I know when you're lying Scheming, conniving I see through fake people I see through blank people This show of affection Reveals your deception I see through fake people I see through blank people I see through you people

Pacific something I can't recall just what he said Maybe he mentioned That there's a cataclysmic storm ahead There's a hazy memory Of some information I must share Possibly connected to That wave approaching over there Where? Listen darling, you know I feel a tad unwell Potentially suffering From a condition that I can't spell Well, you said believe in something Well I would but I've forgotten how Specifically nothing Is all that I believe in now Oh wow! Intrinsically connected to Nothing Specifically Nothing

Some of my channels are missing Some of my channels don't play Part of my brain isn't listening To all that the rest has to say Some of my channels are missing Some of my channels detune All I am hearing is static I think I'll be shutting down soon Some of my channels are missing None of my channels are wired Most of my stations are scrambled And all my subscriptions expired
7.
Don't rip this up There's a thousand explanations For all my violations Don't rip this up And there's a full and signed confession To every indiscretion Read between the lines Don't rip this up Read between the lines Don't rip this up Read between the lines Don't rip this up Read between the lines Don't rip this up Don't rip this up There's a graph charting my spiral And an essay on denial Don't rip this up And there are stories of endeavour And a summary of ever Don't rip this up There's some drawings of the old town And the details of my breakdown Don't rip this up There's the transcript of my trial And an essay on denial There's all my guilty pleasures And a map to hidden treasures There's a picture of us laughing And there's a catalogue of lost things

I never wanted any of this I'm in trouble My odds have doubled I can't find a way out of this I've been lumbered My days are numbered I'm not a man to put your faith in I'm unstable Frequently unable To function like society wants me I thrive on bad dreams Whatever that means I scaled the heights But it didn't phase me Coz I know better It's the depths That'll get ya I tried but couldn't get any higher I was humbled My belief systems crumbled I'm in a state of moral confusion I'm a Buddhist Who keeps a death list I steered well clear of confrontation Well now I'm done I fear no one I've never ever felt so pure Since you took my name And the boys came Now I don't want anything but this Coz you keep giving A reason for living

She Longs 05:22
She longs for a bright blue yonder She dreams of her day in the Sun She's lost the will to sit and wonder She knows just why it all came undone She's bruised on the in and the outside She takes her demons everywhere She's tired of making up excuses She's got a lot of grudges to bear She shares a house with total strangers She says they drive her up the wall She got herself a job in a care home But she knows she doesn't care at all She moved out to a place in the country She changed her name and dyed her hair She hoped they'd be a new beginning But she's wrapped too tight for anywhere She burnt all of her precious photos She vowed to leave the past behind She parked her car down by the river She left no note that we could find She longs She's gone She longs She's gone

about

Recorded between the Summer of 2016 and Autumn 2017, A Catalogue of Lost Things is my second official long player.
A collection of uplifting songs predominantly exploring my own demons and deficiencies; my dissatisfaction with this world and the disdain with which I regard a considerable percentage of its population.
All of you who have purchased this album and understand and appreciate the sentiments within, are immediately absolved of any blame for the state of things.
I hope you enjoy the ride
Love & bananas
